Lumber Liquidators hardwood flooring products have come under Federal scrutiny recently. On September 26th agents from the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement as well as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service paid a visit to multiple Lumber Liquidators locations.

The warrants that allowed the Federal agents to search Lumber Liquidators hardwood flooring headquarters and retail store in Richmond, VA. are sealed and they have not been officially charged of any violations at the present time.

As the investigation of Lumber Liquidators hardwood flooring products continues, the emergence of a newly published video by the EIA, Environmental Investigation Agency, contains footage alleging extremely damaging proof of importation violations. The footage shows packaging of the Virginia Mills line of Lumber Liquidators hardwood floors, being manufactured by a foreign company that has violated logging laws.

If Lumber Liquidators knowingly violated the laws of the Lacey Act as is alleged in this video by the EIA, it is important that the government enforces the penalty to it’s fullest. It is important that all hardwood flooring manufacturer’s are doing business on a level playing field, one should not benefit from illegal harvesting to gain a competitive edge. It is also important that the customer themselves know that they are buying quality products that are being manufactured to the regulations our nation as enacted into law.
