As Hardwoods continue to remain the #1 aspirational flooring choice for U.S. homeowners and homebuyers, wood floor manufacturers are debuting new products to try to keep up with demand and with the ever-changing trends in the flooring industry.

The Dallas Flooring Market show just wrapped up last week and new products were on display.  This list is our favorite new hardwoods for the upcoming 2014 year.

#5  Johnson Frontier series. These new hardwoods are a really nice entry level wood floor for the more budget conscious consumer that is looking for a good value at a great price. It is a Birch species with 3/8″ thick and 5″ wide planks and come in 4 colors.

#4  Urban Floor Downtown collection. This series has had Acacia choices in the past, but they just introduced 6 new colors of handscraped hardwood in the Oak species. This floor has 9/16″ thick with 4 1/2″ wide planks. These new floors will make any home look stately.

#3  Johnson Pacific Coast collection. These new wide plank engineered hardwoods are very rustic looking and come in 12 different colors with 3 of them being in a smooth finish. This floor has 1/2″ thick and 6 1/2″ wide planks. They also are an excellent priced hardwood that is Hickory species.

#2  Urban Floor Royal Court collection. These new varied width handscraped hardwoods are very elegant looking. Random width floors provide a whole new dimension  to your floor. This floor has 3/8″ thick with 3″,5″ & 6 1/2″ wide planks. They also are a great bargain price in comparison to other random width plank hardwood collections.

#1 Johnson English Pub series. These wide plank handscraped hardwoods line debuted last year, but due to the popularity of the floor, they came out with several new color choices for the new year. These high character floors come in 12 different colors and in both Maple and Hickory species. This floor has 1/2″ thick and 6 1/2″ wide and up to 7′ long planks. They are the most expensive floor on this top 5 list, but still a great bargain compared to many other similar products by other manufacturers.
