Tile Installation can be very complex yet, easily learned for the handy DIY homeowner type. The reason it can be complex is because there are so many variables that can come into play that affect whether or not your tile installation is a successful endeavor. Of course it is always best to leave the flooring installs to the trained professional, especially if your project is a large one and the tile is expensive where if there is an error, it could be catastrophic. However for a smaller, less intricate install and you do your homework and are confident in your skills, get dirty and save yourself some money!

One of the questions we get a lot from homeowners during the buying stage for our tile installation aspect of their project is, if they are getting new kitchen cabinets or bathroom vanity, is it best to go up underneath with tile or right up to the vanity with tile. There is no right or wrong answer to that question but there are pros and cons.

Pros: If you thinking about having an open space under your "floating" vanity, of course you will want tile installed underneath of it, but going with that look makes the room feel more expansive.
Also, if you have tile underneath it then it can help with preventing water damage.

Cons: The additional tile for going under the vanity or kitchen cabinet in addition to the tile installation cost can add a good amount to the overall cost of the project depending on the surface area of the vanity or cabinet.
Also, if you are the DIY type, you will want to make sure that the tile going under the cabinet is installed level. Tile installation that is not level, can pose a lot of trouble!
