The Floor Barn is a Mansfield Bathroom Remodeling contractor and we enjoy bringing new tips and products to the home improvement enthusiasts. One of our favorite home remodeling websites for inspiration is Houzz and they are doing a series of blog posts on a bathroom remodeling project. Their last part in this series was plumbing and selecting the shower fixtures. This post focuses on the tiling and grouting phase of shower and bath remodel.

One of the main factor is choosing your tile. A lot of factors should go into this choice. For example, one factor is who is doing the installation of the tile, whether it is yourself or a professional. If you are wanting to utilize
a mosaic tile or installing any tile in a pattern, you might want to hire a professional. If you are utilizing a standard size 12×12 tile and installing it a standard pattern and you are confident in your DIY skills, then it might be worth taking on yourself and saving a little money.

Another factor to consider is grout. At The Floor Barn where were a Mansfield Bathroom remodeling company, we use Epoxy grout on every shower floor project. The shower floor takes the brunt of the water damage and the epoxy grout allows the grout to maintain it’s structure and color more easily than standard grout. We usually use standard grout on the walls unless the client requests to utilize the Epoxy grout.
