countertops and backsplash

Whether you are getting ready to embark on a kitchen or bathroom remodeling project, choosing the right countertops and backsplash can be overwhelming for some homeowners. There are so many different options of both countertops and of even more so of backsplash options, it can be hard to choose, but there are tips you can follow to help alleviate some of the stress to help you come up with a great combo of countertops and backsplash.

My suggestion would be to pick your countertops first. The counters of your kitchen are going to be the biggest part of your remodeling budget and with so many backsplash options out there for you, you will always find many that would compliment your counter selection. With countertops, there are several options from laminate, wood, quartz, Silestone,Tile, Concrete, Soapstone or the most popular being Granite. Once you pick your counter, you are halfway there!

Now that you have the countertop, it is time to select your backsplash. There are so many material choices at your disposal, the biggest thing you have to take in consideration is which aspect is going to be the focal point of your kitchen or room, the countertops or backsplash. For example, if you  got a solid color countertop then it is more safe for you to go with a more attention grabbing backsplash. If you selected a countertop that is very loud or busy, then it is best to use a toned done in design/style for the backsplash. Let them work together, not against each other.

Of course if you like your countertop so much, you can you the same material for your backsplash too. If you still find yourself at a crossroads and are having difficult time select your countertops and backsplash, it might benefit you to seek professional help by hiring a designer.
