There are many projects a homeowner can have done to their home to make it a more sustainable living space, however most renovations can have a high budget such as installing solar panels. However, there are some easy projects that a DIY home owner could tackle on their own without the huge cost or hiring a contractor

One example is to use recelaimed materials throughout your home, whether it is something that will be used structurally or decoratively. With an ever increasing number of salvage stores selling reclaimed products popping up around major cities, there are countless of opportunities to utilize your creativity in your next home improvement project. For example, we had leftover hardwood floors from a recent flooring project, and instead of having them gather dust in our attic, we used them as a really cool headboard in our bedroom.
